Question 1

Is Rayan a reliable DEFCON asset in Fantasy Premier League?

Accepted Answer

The number is not the reason to bring this player in. earned the +2pt DEFCON bonus in 1 of 9 appearances this season. Rayan averages 5.48 defensive contribution actions per 90 minutes across 789 minutes played (48 total actions this season). That places Rayan below the level where DEFCON becomes a genuinely bankable weekly return, so any manager signing them should be doing so for attacking output or fixture reasons rather than defensive contributions. The DEFCON return is not why you would sign this player - it is a bonus if it comes.

Question 2

How does Rayan rank among Fantasy Premier League midfielders for DEFCON?

Accepted Answer

Rayan ranks 63 of 67 eligible midfielders for DEFCON per 90 - the 7th percentile at their position. That places them below the level where DEFCON should be a leading reason to own them. Attacking output, price, and fixtures need to carry more of the weight in the buying case.

Question 3

What do Rayan's raw defensive numbers look like this Fantasy Premier League season?

Accepted Answer

Rayan has racked up 31 combined clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles across 789 minutes. That works out to 3.5 defensive actions per 90 minutes on average. The 12-plus threshold has been cleared in 1 of 9 appearances, converting to the +2pt DEFCON bonus each time. 789 minutes is enough to see the shape of the underlying rate, though a larger sample would tighten confidence.

Question 4

Should I sign Rayan for Gameweek 10 on DEFCON grounds?

Accepted Answer

Rayan's defensive workload of 5.48 actions per 90 is too thin to build a transfer around. The Gameweek 10 fixture is away at Ipswich Town, an FDR 2 matchup. If the attacking case is strong for other reasons, DEFCON is not the reason to hold back - but it should not be the reason to bring them in either.
