Is Bobby Thomas a reliable DEFCON asset in Fantasy Premier League?

Accepted Answer

There is no ambiguity in the data. earned the +2pt DEFCON bonus in 5 of 8 appearances this season, with a 63% hit rate on the +2pt DEFCON bonus. Managers with a DEFCON-focused blueprint should have this player near the top of the shortlist.

Question 2

How does Thomas rank among Fantasy Premier League defenders for DEFCON?

Accepted Answer

Thomas is the number 3 ranked FPL defender for DEFCON per 90 across the 63 players who have played enough minutes to qualify. That is inside the top three at this position - as strong an endorsement as the data can offer on defensive contributions alone.

Question 3

What do Thomas's raw defensive numbers look like this Fantasy Premier League season?

Accepted Answer

Thomas has racked up 88 combined clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles across 676 minutes. That works out to 11.7 defensive actions per 90 minutes on average. The 10-plus threshold has been cleared in 5 of 8 appearances, converting to the +2pt DEFCON bonus each time. 676 minutes is enough to see the shape of the underlying rate, though a larger sample would tighten confidence.

Question 4

Should I sign Bobby Thomas for Gameweek 10 on DEFCON grounds?
