Question 1

Is Diego Gomez a reliable DEFCON asset in Fantasy Premier League?

Accepted Answer

The signal is genuine. earned the +2pt DEFCON bonus in 2 of 9 appearances this season That is a solid profile for a midfielder in this bracket - not the very top of the league, but comfortably above the level where DEFCON becomes a meaningful part of a player's weekly ceiling. Managers looking for baseline points without a huge premium can lean here with confidence.

Question 2

How does Gomez rank among Fantasy Premier League midfielders for DEFCON?

Accepted Answer

Gomez ranks 21 of 67 eligible midfielders for DEFCON per 90 - the 70th percentile at their position. That places them below the level where DEFCON should be a leading reason to own them. Attacking output, price, and fixtures need to carry more of the weight in the buying case.

Question 3

What do Gomez's raw defensive numbers look like this Fantasy Premier League season?

Accepted Answer

Gomez has racked up 40 combined clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles across 783 minutes. That works out to 4.6 defensive actions per 90 minutes on average. The 12-plus threshold has been cleared in 2 of 9 appearances, converting to the +2pt DEFCON bonus each time. 783 minutes is enough to see the shape of the underlying rate, though a larger sample would tighten confidence.

Question 4

Should I sign Diego Gomez for Gameweek 10 on DEFCON grounds?

Accepted Answer

The DEFCON case for Diego Gomez is respectable at 9.31 defensive contribution actions per 90. The Gameweek 10 fixture is at home to Brentford, an FDR 3 matchup. That is a sensible profile to bring in if you have space at the price point and want to lock in a baseline of defensive contributions, though it should sit alongside a stronger attacking or fixture reason rather than being the sole trigger.
