The rate holds up across the sample - the question is fit rather than talent.

Question 2

How does Silva rank among Fantasy Premier League defenders for DEFCON?

Accepted Answer

Among the 63 eligible defenders, Silva ranks 13 for DEFCON per 90. That is a top-tier profile without being elite - the 81th percentile of the position - meaning managers who focus on fixture and price can often find better value while managers who stack DEFCON specialists will still consider them.

Question 3

What do Silva's raw defensive numbers look like this Fantasy Premier League season?

Accepted Answer

Silva has racked up 93 combined clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles across 810 minutes. That works out to 10.3 defensive actions per 90 minutes on average. The 10-plus threshold has been cleared in 6 of 9 appearances, converting to the +2pt DEFCON bonus each time. 810 minutes is enough to see the shape of the underlying rate, though a larger sample would tighten confidence.

Question 4

Should I sign Silva for Gameweek 10 on DEFCON grounds?

Accepted Answer

The DEFCON case for Silva is respectable at 10.33 defensive contribution actions per 90. The Gameweek 10 fixture is away at Ipswich Town, an FDR 2 matchup. That is a sensible profile to bring in if you have space at the price point and want to lock in a baseline of defensive contributions, though it should sit alongside a stronger attacking or fixture reason rather than being the sole trigger.
