Question 1

Is Jan Paul Van Hecke a reliable DEFCON asset in Fantasy Premier League?

Accepted Answer

There is enough here to note without overselling it. earned the +2pt DEFCON bonus in 3 of 9 appearances this season. Jan Paul Van Hecke averages 8.33 defensive contribution actions per 90 minutes across 810 minutes played (75 total actions this season). That is a moderate workload rather than an elite one - DEFCON can land, but it should be treated as a bonus rather than a bankable weekly return. The return is worth noting but the case for a transfer rests on something else.

Question 2

How does Van Hecke rank among Fantasy Premier League defenders for DEFCON?

Accepted Answer

Van Hecke ranks 30 of 63 eligible defenders for DEFCON per 90 - the 54th percentile at their position. That places them below the level where DEFCON should be a leading reason to own them. Attacking output, price, and fixtures need to carry more of the weight in the buying case.

Question 3

What do Van Hecke's raw defensive numbers look like this Fantasy Premier League season?

Accepted Answer

Van Hecke has racked up 75 combined clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles across 810 minutes. That works out to 8.3 defensive actions per 90 minutes on average. The 10-plus threshold has been cleared in 3 of 9 appearances, converting to the +2pt DEFCON bonus each time. 810 minutes is enough to see the shape of the underlying rate, though a larger sample would tighten confidence.

Question 4

Should I sign Jan Paul Van Hecke for Gameweek 10 on DEFCON grounds?

Accepted Answer

Jan Paul Van Hecke's defensive workload of 8.33 actions per 90 is moderate rather than elite. The Gameweek 10 fixture is away at Leeds, an FDR 3 matchup. A transfer on defensive contributions alone is hard to justify at this profile - lean on the fixture, price, or attacking output as the primary case and treat DEFCON as an occasional bonus.
