Question 1

What does the transfer market look like for selling Ajayi and buying Van Hecke in Gameweek 10?

Accepted Answer

In Gameweek 10, 228,637 managers have moved into Jan Paul Van Hecke while 53,031 have left Semi Ajayi. The net direction of travel is clear: the FPL market is pricing Jan Paul Van Hecke as the better short-term asset. Transfer activity of this scale is typically driven by a combination of fixture awareness, expected returns, and ownership risk - all three of which feed into the analysis below.

Question 2

What is the ownership risk of keeping Ajayi over Van Hecke in Gameweek 10?

Accepted Answer

Semi Ajayi carries 12.4% ownership against 11.5% for Jan Paul Van Hecke. Holding Ajayi keeps you aligned with the majority - if they blank, you do not lose rank to most of your rivals. But that same ownership cuts both ways: a Jan Paul Van Hecke return while you hold Ajayi costs rank against the 11.5% who made the switch. Your rank ambition and mini-league position should shape how you weight this.

Question 3

What is the budget impact of selling Ajayi for Van Hecke?

Accepted Answer

This transfer costs £0.8m extra, moving from Semi Ajayi at £4.2m to Jan Paul Van Hecke at £5.0m. That upgrade cost needs to be funded from elsewhere in your squad or your bank. The question is whether £5.0m represents a price point that justifies the outlay relative to the expected return differential. At 7.2 projected points for Jan Paul Van Hecke against 2.2 for Ajayi, the model backs the premium this gameweek.

Question 4

How do the fixtures compare for Ajayi and Van Hecke heading into Gameweek 10?

Accepted Answer

Jan Paul Van Hecke faces Leeds (A) in Gameweek 10 - a Medium rated fixture. Semi Ajayi draws Arsenal (A), rated Very Hard. The fixture swing is the clearest argument for making this move now rather than waiting. Buying into Van Hecke before an easier schedule is a better entry point than chasing after they have already delivered. The 228,637 managers who have already transferred in have largely acted on this fixture window.
